Regenerative Farming

At Quinta do Freixo, our production methods are guided by a strong environmental commitment.
We rely on techniques based primarily on an ever-deepening understanding of the relationships between living beings knowledge,  refined over thousands of years through natural processes. In this way, we aim to strengthen ecosystems through diversification, which in turn allows the soil to regenerate and maintain its productive potential year after year.

Our activities range from the production of cork, carob, sheep, pigs, cattle, vegetables, and fruit, to the making of jams, tourism, and gastronomy—where we proudly serve much of what we produce ourselves.

Did you know that you can now order our organic pasture-raised lamb directly? We carry out regular lamb slaughters and, besides being very tender and flavorful, they are raised freely and help reduce the risk of wildfires.

Did you know that you can visit Quinta do Freixo and discover everything we do?

Our tours are conducted regularly, on a tractor ride, lasting approximately 2 hours and include:

*Visit to the pasture with native breeds (sheep, pigs and cows) organically raised

*Visit to our jam factory

*Tractor ride through the stunning landscapes of Quinta do Freixo, passing by the twin lakes for swimming

*Tasting our jams and other traditional products

Note: Tours may be subject to change depending on the activities taking place on the farm.

The cost is €15 per adult and €10 per child.
